Product description
SSIC+C is an advanced material composed of alpha-sintered silicon carbide (SSIC) combined with pure carbon graphite. There are four main areas where an SSIC+C seal outperforms a standard SSIC seal from an engineering standpoint.
First, SSIC+C has a lower coefficient of friction. The structure of this material allows for better lubrication compared to SSIC. This benefits the pump by reducing energy loss during seal rotation and helps prevent the faces from seizing or locking up during periods of inactivity.
Second, SSIC+C exhibits better self-lubricating performance than SSIC. It offers a longer service life in hard-on-hard material environments and helps prevent machine downtime, i.e., lost production.
Third, SSIC+C has significantly better wear resistance and a wider pH range than resin carbon or metal-impregnated carbon. It also provides excellent lubrication when used as a rotary face against SSIC or tungsten carbide.
SSIC+C also offers superior corrosion resistance and a wider operating temperature range compared to resin carbon or metal-impregnated carbon. Therefore, it is the optimal choice for rotary face applications.
